Congress approves a repeal of Internet privacy protections

Congress has voted to repeal Internet privacy protections that were approved during the Obama administration.

The vote will allow an ISP (Internet Service Provider)  to collect and share customers browsing history data without there consent.

What does this mean to you?

Data on customers internet surfing is already collected, but know that information can be sold without your knowledge or approval. This potentially makes customers susceptible to identity theft and decreases privacy.

Many advocacy groups reject the the bill and fear it leaves customers sensitive information at risk.
